Monday, Aug. 11, 2008| Where is Neil Morgan and why aren’t we hearing from him in light of all the recent Voice-exposed civic stupidity, malfeasance and greed? I hope he is well.

His silence since this spring concerns me greatly. Neil Morgan has been a very bright journalistic light for more than 40 years in this town. He knows (probably) everything and everyone political and has written some beautiful stuff. His essays after the 2003 fires especially resonated. His tough, pointed accusations did, too.

We now see the legacy that his ethical and journalistic compass has instilled in the new guys, Carless, Donohue and Lewis. In Voice, he provided the platform for what they’re doing now, and that is wonderful. I just wish we could hear from him again.
