Former Union-Tribune columnist Gerry Braun has written his first column for Mayor Jerry Sanders. It’s short. He says:
This is a critical time in our city’s history. I look forward to helping Mayor Sanders continue his efforts to bring meaningful and lasting reform to City Hall.
That’s right. A day after leaving the Union-Tribune, Braun has taken a job as Sanders’ director of special projects.
It’s a new position. A news release gives it this description:
Braun will assist and advise in the framing of policy matters, including water conservation and reliability, disaster preparedness and other issues requiring public outreach. He will also work with city staff to identify internal roadblocks and assist in developing solutions.
No word on whether he will help improve Sanders’ miniature golf game. Braun starts Monday.
