Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 | Mike Aguirre’s big case? This defense against the firefighters who were ordered to march in the gay pride parade will not make or break him. The outcome of this will have no bearing on votes. He had a huge win, which saved the city more than $100 million. That case was lost by Casey Gwynn. Aguirre won it on appeal. He needs to win the appeal on the pension fiasco. Aguirre has a huge mountain to climb. If he wins that I may vote for him. He has been far too volatile. Judge Jan Goldsmith doesn’t want to pursue this issue. Why do we need judges to become politicians? Goldsmith is third. So far they should have stayed on the bench. I have been unimpressed by him. We need a door no. 3.
