Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 | City Attorney candidate Jan Goldsmith has demonstrated his willingness to curry favor with groups and then stab them in the back. It is too bad people think Goldsmith is anything but a politician. Mike Aguirre’s pension fight is a poor decision for a politician since it largely alienated a significant segment of his supporters. However, it is clear that Aguirre is not a politician. The decision to fight the pension case is in the best interests of the residents of this city, which would be saddled with a $1 billion-plus I.O.U.

Aguirre has the best interests of the residents of this city at heart.
