The San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council today announced a boycott of KGTV Channel 10 after a long labor dispute involving the channel’s behind-the-camera workers.

From a letter by Labor Council Secretary-Treasurer Lorena Gonzalez (emphasis hers):

The workers at Channel 10, the 120,000 families of the Labor Council and I respectfully request that all friends and supporters of organized labor respect the boycott and avoid watching 10News until the station is willing to offer their workers a fair contract.  We are also requesting supporters avoid granting interviews to reporters from the station. Any interview granted to Channel 10 News, after 8 p.m. PST on November 4, 2008, will be viewed as violation of the boycott.

Nice timing: The first election results in San Diego roll in at 8 p.m.
