A new website, www.sdcityattorney.com, has been set up by private citizens to house dozens of investigative reports that were produced during former City Attorney Mike Aguirre’s four years in office.

During Aguirre’s tenure, his office regularly churned out such reports, most of which were dedicated to the city’s pension scandal and Aguirre’s attempts to understand the pension mess and, in turn, explain it to the public.

Other reports also focused on such diverse subjects as the city’s infrastructure needs in the face of global warming (Interim Report 11, “A Call to Action: The City of San Diego Must Prepare its Infrastructure to Withstand Anticipated Impacts from Global Warming”) and Aguirre’s response to a California attorney general report into his allegation that Mayor Jerry Sanders was corrupt (Interim Report 33AG, “City Attorney Letter to Attorney General, Requesting Review of “Report of the California Attorney General”).

The first handful of Aguirre reports were released with much fanfare. But, since then they have been met with less enthusiasm by the public and press.
