San Diego City Council members made one change to the committee appointments recommended by Council President Ben Hueso, which I posted yesterday.

Based on a memo from Councilwomen Donna Frye and Sherri Lightner, the council agreed to substitute Lightner for Frye on the Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee. Lightner, a new council member, backed Frye as council president in last week’s vote, in which the other six members of the council opted for Hueso.

Hueso praised the recommendation to appoint Lightner to the committee. He said he had tried to make the appointments “a very fair process” by considering all council members requests’ and aiming for “balanced input” on the committees.

The committee appointments were approved unanimously this afternoon.
