Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 | Oh, for heaven’s sake!  Terry Grier can talk all he wants to about lowering class size but it is not going to happen.  He has already said there is no money for it!

And, like many other school superintendents, he brags about adding additional AP courses at high schools; the ranking of schools based on how many AP courses are offered and how many students are enrolled in these courses says nothing — what really matters is how many students pass the AP courses.  Yes, of course, the courses need to be offered but not just to get the body count up and your name in a national magazine.  Where is everyone’s head on this?
