Later today, a San Diego City Council committee is slated to discuss President Barack Obama’s plans for a stimulus package and how to direct federal infrastructure money to city projects.
My colleagues Kelly Bennett and Rob Davis have written about the extensive stimulus wish list assembled by the San Diego Association of Governments. One estimate has put San Diego County’s potential share of the stimulus package at about $400 million.
The city’s efforts to qualify for federal funding will be discussed by the city’s Land Use and Housing Committee, which is led by Councilman Todd Gloria. The meeting starts at 2 p.m. today at City Hall.
