The City Council’s Rules Committee is scheduled to discuss the term of the council presidency on Wednesday, at the request of new Council President Ben Hueso.
In a memo, Hueso suggested several topics for the committee to discuss as part of their review of changes proposed by Councilwoman Donna Frye and Councilman Carl DeMaio. This was among Hueso’s additions:
Reviewing Rule 4.2 to include a discussion on the length of term of the Council President
The term is currently one year. Hueso was selected as the second council president in the city’s history in December. The committee meeting takes place 9 a.m. Wednesday at City Hall.
