That, ladies and gentlemen, is Ocean Beach. It is also the former location of a trash can — a trash can that was maintained by city crews until in became a recent victim of budget cuts.
This is a quote from Maggie Allen, resident coordinator for Sunset Cove, a nearby housing complex: “Just put a trash can out here for crying out loud.”
The rubbish has been piling up steadily now for the past few weeks. Occasionally, Allen says, she sees trash strewn about the beaches below the cliff.
