Earlier today, I spoke to Maggie Allen, an Ocean Beach resident who was concerned about trash piling up along the cliffs outside her residence.

That wasn’t the only thing Allen was worried about. I met her, in fact, while photographing this:

We thought it was a power line being held up by duct tape and climbing rope. It looked a little dangerous.

“That’s just looking very precarious hanging there like that,” Allen said.

SDG&E officials say it’s not theirs. Sabra Moallem, a spokeswoman for the company, said after examining photos and having a crew check the line, they’ve decided it is a telephone line. I’m putting an inquiry in to AT&T to find out why the line is hanging like that and whether it’s at all dangerous. If nothing else, it has residents concerned.

“Everybody comments that it looks pretty jury rigged and pretty dangerous,” Allen said.
