Today we celebrate voiceofsandiego.org‘s fourth birthday. (I thought I’d point that out just in case you missed the exploding fireworks on the front page.) I remember when I first went about trying to explain to people what we were going to be — nonprofit, online only — and people kind of just looked at me weird.

Now, people still look at me weird from time to time, but not when I’m explaining to them what we’re doing. I had the opportunity to talk about what we’re doing this morning on the NPR show “On Point.” The program, which also featured NYU professor Jay Rosen and NPR media reporter David Folkenflik, focused on the future of news.
