You might imagine that every time I visit a school with my big cameras, I can draw quite a bit of attention in a classroom. Depending on a number of different factors, I get reactions ranging from really young kids grabbing at my camera wanting to see the picture on the digital display to high school kids yelling that they will beat me up if I don’t take their picture. It’s always a new surprise at every school.
At Sandburg Elementary, where reporter Emily Alpert and I visited for her story on proposed changes to special education in San Diego schools, I sensed a whole bunch of curiosity from the students.
