Remember Kris Goland, the homeowner whose purchase of a gutted, foreclosed home I wrote about in December?

I checked in with Goland this week: “The house is coming along,” he said. He added that he hosted a housewarming party last month for his friends and family, where he posted photos of the house in its “before” state and a copy of the story we wrote about him. (Some of those photos appeared in this NBC 7/39 spot about Goland’s purchase.)

Here’s more from Goland:

I think my parents and friends were most amazed at my willingness to tackle this foreclosed home, and make it what it is today. …

The kitchen is completely done.  I hired workers to finish all the tile and counter work.  It’s now difficult to convince people that only months ago the kitchen, and the rest of the house was completely stripped.

Most of my home-improvement budget is depleted, so I’m not concentrating on painting the rest of the inside of the house.  My girlfriend and I couldn’t be any happier.  We’re looking forward to the warm days of summer to enjoy the kitchen, bar, and backyard with some margaritas.
