I got a call about a half hour ago from a reader who had been following this story about the management company at Liberty Station watering our lush lawns in the middle of the day.
The reader informed me that the sprinklers were cranking away this afternoon, so I rushed just down the road to grab an image. This picture was taken at 1:30 p.m. During the 10 minutes I was around, I saw about 20 sprinkler heads irrigating the grass and plants in the area.

The County Water Authority has recommended that residents only water their landscape in the late afternoon as one of the simplest methods to save water.
When asked last week about why landscapers were spraying down the lawn at Liberty Station in the middle of the day, Keli Koontz, who works with Walters Management to oversee the development, said she mentioned to the landscaper that the early morning was the best time to irrigate.
By the way, in case you’re interested, here’s the weather forecast for the rest of the week. The National Weather Service says there’s a 50 percent chance of precipitation tomorrow, with the possibility of thunderstorms.
