Today we wrote about how the future direction of The San Diego Union-Tribune’s editorial page is up in the air now with its sale to a private equity firm.

At least one aspect might not be on the table for much tinkering: editorial cartoonist Steve Breen today won the Pulitzer Prize. He was praised for “his agile use of a classic style to produce wide ranging cartoons that engage readers with power, clarity and humor.”

Add that to San Diego’s four previous Pulitzer Prizes.
