Coming soon to your neighborhood: Designated lawn-watering days.

Mayor Jerry Sanders’ plan unveiled today to implement mandatory water conservation will allow residents living in odd-numbered houses to water Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Residents in even-numbered houses will be able to water Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Businesses, condos, apartments and home-owners associations can water Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

They’ll be allowed to water for 10 minutes between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.

The City Council will consider whether to approve the plan tomorrow. Restrictions go into effect June 1.

Exemptions will apply to those who use drip irrigation and golf course greens and tees.
