Politico is reporting that Congressman Brian Bilbray is on a National Republican Congressional Committee list of vulnerable GOP representatives set to receive special campaign funds.

The NRCC Patriot Program, as the initiative is called, targets House members facing serious challenges in next year’s election, but requires that beneficiaries agree to fundraising benchmarks and to develop effective campaign strategies.

Bilbray is joined on the 10-member list by two other Californians, Dan Lungren and Ken Calvert. According to Federal Election Commission filings, Bilbray raised about $84,000 in the first quarter of 2009, less than any other member on the list.

Calvert, of Riverside, was second to the bottom, with about $127,000, while Chris Lee of New York raised the most at $224,000.
