On my way to the Mayor’s Convention Center Task Force, I stopped by to cheer on and give support to my friends in the LGBT community who were setting up for the Day of Decision rally. Heartbreaking day for equality.

The Mayor’s Citizen Task Force on the Convention Center Expansion was held at the Balboa Park Club. As usual public input was limited to industry folks and Don Wood. As a member of the task force I can attest to the efforts in trying to get the public involved … Meetings in every council district and varied times.

But, the audience usually looks the same.

I snapped this grainy picture of Bill Evans just so I would have an excuse to bring up the City of San Diego Port Nominees. Labor, like environmentalists and most progressives, support another task force member, Diane Takvorian. But, I do appreciate how Bill Evans winks at me and laughs when I bring up organizing neutrality at the meetings.

Tom Lemmon, with the Building Trades chatting with PLA supporter Ricardo Flores.

Camille Zombro, President of the Teachers Union, showing her support for good local jobs with healthcare.

Not everyone is happy about the PLA possibility.

And, my favorite picture of the day. Sam taking pictures at the board of education.
