A reader posed an excellent question about my earlier post on the sprinkler systems in City Hall: Which floors will be doused from above in case of a fire?
Along with the basement, they are the 10th floor, which houses the City Council offices; the 11th floor, home to the Mayor’s Office; the 13th floor, which has space for journalists; and the two floors above that, which house mechanical systems and aren’t publicly accessible.
The City Council chambers are on the 12th floor and aren’t among those with sprinklers.
