In light of City Attorney Jan Goldsmith’s legal memo opining that the Deferred Retirement Option Plan was never properly put into place, Councilman Carl DeMaio is asking whether officials followed the city charter when they put other controversial benefits into place.

In a memo, DeMaio asks specifically about the two notorious pension underfunding deals known as Manager’s Proposal 1 and 2, as well as a program that allowed city employees to purchase credit for time they never worked.
