Remember all the back and forth about busing? San Diego Unified had planned to streamline busing to save money, but that would mean pushing some buses earlier in the morning — some parents said too early. So the school board tried another plan to push the buses back, but then other parents complained that the new schedules would be too late for working parents, especially at schools that already start late.

Now the school board has gone back to the drawing board: Bus schedules will not change at any school this fall except one magnet school that uses so many buses that the timing change would save $1 million. Meanwhile, the school district will reassess the issue, gather more information on ridership and busing patterns and eventually make a decision on whether to change the schedules for fall 2010. The plan passed unanimously at the school board meeting last night.

Whew. Does anyone else feel like they just rehashed Goldilocks and the Three Bears?
