The Morning Report

For the past seven months, I’ve had a great time covering local government and politics at voiceofsandiego.org.
But today is my last day. I’m leaving to start law school in the fall. And while I’m excited for the opportunity, it’s hard to be leaving what is undoubtedly one of the best jobs in journalism.
Judging by the people who’ve applied for the job, I know my replacement will be spectacular. Until that person starts, our excellent new reporter Adrian Florido will be filling in on the government beat. Be sure to send him your tips at adrian.florido@voiceofsandiego.org.
I’d like to thank my incredibly intelligent and passionate co-workers, everyone I’ve talked to in writing my stories, and, most of all, the readers who’ve taken the time to read my stories over the past months. I appreciated every phone call and e-mail, both the laudatory and critical, for keeping me on my toes.
I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to all the great tips and story ideas that readers have provided me over the months. But I hope you found my stories useful in understanding some of the important issues facing San Diego.
