Mayor Jerry Sanders has nominated Robert Gleason, chief financial officer of Evans Hotels, to the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s board of directors.

If confirmed by San Diego City Council, Gleason would take the spot vacated by Alan Bersin, who resigned to become federal border czar, and serve a term that expires in 2011.

Gleason serves on the city’s Commission for Arts and Culture and has served previously on the convention center’s board and the city’s Salary Setting Commission. Here’s his lengthy resume.

He is the mayor’s second choice for the spot. Attorney John Davies withdrew his nomination earlier this week because he didn’t have enough votes from the City Council to be confirmed.
