Since mid-June, I’ve spent a lot of time down in East Village. First, I had to illustrate Kelly Bennett‘s story about the neighborhood’s growing pains.

Then, I had this photo essay of shots from San Diego’s rooftops. Many of these images were taken in East Village.

And, in the past few weeks, I’ve been documenting San Diego’s homeless population, which is largely concentrated in East Village.

While shooting those assignments, I’ve stumbled upon a number of other interesting photos that I haven’t had the chance to share. East Village is certainly a neighborhood with a lot of character.
