When I was reporting for a story on San Diego’s tent cities earlier this month, Dave Ross, known to the city’s homeless community as “The Waterman,” took me on an eye-opening tour of downtown and East Village. It was Ross who distributed most of the hundreds of tents that have sprung up there. He hands out hundreds of bottles of water each day, and was known to every person I spoke with over the course of reporting the story.

Videographer Michael Gonzales and the Media Arts Center have produced another excellent video exploring the city’s homeless community. We introduced two videos yesterday, and today we feature Ross.
