Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 | Isolating homeless on a decommissioned warship? Really? They are stored on a worthless ship, out of our sight and mind. I can’t think of a worse idea, unless the dock line breaks free and they float away.

These folks are a part of our community, some in fact, are our brother, sisters and parents. While some may prefer to live on the street, many, many more need help with health, addiction, and social issues. They are our responsibility, not our burden.

Let’s figure out how to help them (caution, it may cost tax money) and keep them close.

They could use help, love, and support – not a floating ghetto.
