I just spoke with San Diego County Taxpayers Association President and CEO Lani Lutar. She believed my earlier post gave the impression that the task force supports Convention Center expansion definitively.

She wanted to make sure it was clear that the task force had yet to agree on a recommendation to the mayor on convention center expansion — pro or con.

What the committee agreed to Tuesday night was wording.

The wording says the task force will support expansion should the mayor define the project’s scope and secure its revenue. But task force members remain free to oppose it and any other statement. The task force plans to vote on an entire report — including that statement — at its next meeting at the end of this month.

Lutar, for one, said she hasn’t decided how she would vote.
