The Houston Chronicle has learned that San Diego Unified Superintendent Terry Grier is the frontrunner for the superintendency of the Houston Independent School District. The school district is likely to announce its pick on Thursday or Monday.

Grier brushed off the rumors that he was seeking the Houston job earlier this month, saying, “Give me a break.”
