The city of San Diego will release its five-year financial forecast on Thursday, the mayor’s office said. The forecast should provide a snapshot of the city’s finances amid the economic downturn, large pension liability and other issues.

To this point, the city has projected at least a $100 million budget deficit for the coming fiscal year and already has said it will need to lay off up to 400 employees because of this year’s estimated $225 million pension payment.

Here’s a link to last year’s five-year financial forecast.
