We now know the answer to one of the questions posed in my story about what’s coming this year in the local media: KPBS has a new director of news, a veteran of public radio who spent time as an international correspondent.

The newly hired Suzanne Marmion, who begins Feb. 8, will oversee KPBS’s TV, radio and online news operations. In a statement, KPBS said she has worked as an international correspondent for the public radio shows “Marketplace” and “The World” and was a news editor at “The World” for five years.
