We published a big story Sunday night about San Diego’s heralded curfew sweeps program. Our investigation challenges the long-held assertion that the sweeps are responsible for a recent drop in juvenile crime.
You can check out the story and reader comments by clicking here, and learn even more about the story during breakfast, lunch and dinner Tuesday. I’ll be appearing on a few local news programs to talk about my research.
• At 8 a.m., I’ll be on the Mike Slater Show (AM 760 KFMB).
• At noon, I’ll be on KPBS’ Midday Edition radio program (FM 89.5).
• At 6:30 p.m., I’ll be on KPBS’ Evening Edition television program (Cable 11, Cox 1011, Time Warner 15-1).
The radio programs will be live and we might be taking callers, so please tune in and join the conversation. The folks at KPBS’ Evening Edition are also planning to show a video of curfew sweeps in City Heights, so I especially recommend watching that episode if you can.
