Mayor Bob Filner:

This is not good enough. If you truly believe in what is best for the city, if you want to be a better person, you must resign. Can you possibly think two weeks of so-called “therapy” will fix this issue? Please, please think of someone besides yourself. The right thing to do is to step down.

I have been a registered Democrat since I could first vote 45 years ago. I will now change my registration in protest of you.

My late husband and I have done a great deal for this region. We have devoted ourselves to making San Diego a better place. You have brought ridicule to our city and area. Please resign immediately. That would show that you have a sense of true regret. Fix the “monster” inside you and then try to re-enter public life. This region should not have to suffer while you repair that which many believe is not repairable.

To any remaining City Councilmembers who have not called for Filner’s resignation:

I do not understand how you can continue to remain silent about the unconscionable, and very likely illegal, activities of your standard-bearer, Filner. The women and men of this region would appreciate a united City Council in asking for Filner to resign immediately. He can then rehabilitate himself and seek a role in the community at some future date, should that be possible.

Your silence is deafening and disappointing.
