Housing affordability, business opportunity and growth, education, the environment – very few important priorities of our region are unaffected by land-use decisions.

Yet those decisions and the laws that surround them can be extremely complex. And the coverage about them, where it happens, can be perfunctory.

We’re looking for a reporter willing to make sense of it all, to dig for corruption and inefficiencies and to help make sure San Diego leaders make the best decisions possible to create enough affordable homes for all the new residents the region expects in coming decades.

Experience digging into and explaining complex public affairs situations is going to be required. Please send cover letter, resume and links to previous work to scott@voiceofsandiego.org.
