Start Here

  1. Add info@voiceofsandiego.org to Contacts (or Safe Senders).
  2. Check Spam/Junk and Promotions/Other tabs. Mark our message Not spam and move it to Inbox/Primary/Focused.
  3. For Gmail (web): Settings → See all settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter → From: @voiceofsandiego.orgNever send it to Spam.

Whitelisting

Tell your email app “always allow” messages from @voiceofsandiego.org.

Gmail (Web) Whitelist
  1. Go to Settings ⚙ → See all settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter.
  2. In From, enter info@voiceofsandiego.org (or @voiceofsandiego.org).
  3. Click Create filter → check Never send it to SpamCreate filter.
  4. Add to Contacts: open any VOSD email → ▼ by ReplyAdd to Contacts.
Gmail (Mobile App) Whitelist
  1. Open a VOSD message → tap sender → Add to contacts.
  2. If filtered, tap ⋮ → Move toPrimary.
Outlook (Web) Whitelist
  1. Settings ⚙ → Mail → Junk email.
  2. Under Safe senders and domains, click Add + → add info@voiceofsandiego.org (or @voiceofsandiego.org).
Outlook (Mobile App) Whitelist
  1. Open a VOSD email → ⋯ → Move to Folder → choose Inbox → select Always Move.
Yahoo Mail (Web & Mobile) Whitelist
  1. Web filters: Settings ⚙ → More Settings → Filters → Add new filter → From: info@voiceofsandiego.org → deliver to Inbox.
  2. Mobile: open a VOSD message in Spam → MoveInbox.
iPhone Mail Whitelist
  1. Open a VOSD email → tap sender → Create New Contact (or Add to Existing).
Gmail Tabs (Primary/Promotions) Whitelist
  1. Drag our email from Promotions to Primary → click Yes to do this for future messages.
Thunderbird, AOL, Comcast, EarthLink, AT&T Whitelist
  1. Add info@voiceofsandiego.org to your Address Book / Safe Senders.
  2. AT&T uses Yahoo—follow Yahoo Mail steps above.

Spam / Missing Emails

If messages aren’t in Inbox, check Spam/Junk and secondary tabs, then mark as safe.

Gmail (Web & Mobile) Spam / Missing
  1. Open Spam → select our email → click Not spam.
  2. Gmail Tabs: if in Promotions, drag to Primary → click Yes when prompted.
  3. Mobile: open message → ⋮ → Move toPrimary.
Outlook (Desktop & Web) Spam / Missing
  1. Desktop: right-click message → Junk → Not Junk (or Never Block Sender).
  2. Web: open Junk Email → select our message → It’s not junk / It’s safe.
  3. Focused Inbox: move our message to Focused and choose Always move.
Yahoo Mail (Web & Mobile) Spam / Missing
  1. Open Spam → select our email → Not Spam.
  2. Mobile: open Spam → select our email → MoveInbox.
iPhone Mail Spam / Missing
  1. Mailboxes → Junk → swipe left on our email → More → Mark → Mark as Not Junk.
Thunderbird, AOL, Comcast, EarthLink Spam / Missing
  1. Mark our message as Not Spam / Not Junk (AOL: right-click → Not Spam).
  2. EarthLink: in Suspect Email, choose Move to Inbox and Add Contact.

Security & Spam Filters

If your company or security app is filtering email, allow-list our address/domain.

  • Add info@voiceofsandiego.org (or domain @voiceofsandiego.org) to Allowed/Safe Senders in tools like Barracuda, SaneBox, Cloudmark, SpamAssassin, Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro.
  • If unsure, ask your IT/help desk: “Please allow-list @voiceofsandiego.org for our mailbox.”
