In 2014, hoping to quell drama that had flared at Harriet Tubman Village Charter, San Diego Unified trustees appointed a parent, Aimee Nimtz, to the school’s governing board. Since then, former Tubman staff members say Nimtz has seized control of the school and pushed to fire three principals in quick succession – the latest after just four months on the job.
