Last night was my second opportunity to photograph dancers from City Ballet as they pieced together performances. In late October, I photographed them rehearsing a set of intricate pieces for their Celebrating Balanchine production.

This time around, I focused my lens on Janica Smith, who is playing the Sugar Plum Fairy in the upcoming production of The Nutcracker. You can read more about her in today’s profile by Valerie Scher.
