The team has come out ahead in 19 of their last 22 games. They are just two games behind the Dodgers and neck and neck with the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are also vying for the NL Wild Card spot in the playoffs.
It will be a battle through the end of September, with the Padres facing the Dodgers and D-backs in back-to-back series to close out the regular season.
