U.S. Rep. Scott Peters has some hot takes.
Peters joined us for the latest recording of the VOSD Podcast to talk about California’s redistricting efforts, a possible run for San Diego mayor and more.
On this week’s show, our hosts explain why you can’t throw empty pizza boxes in your green bin if the city of San Diego collects your waste. Also, have you ever given a reporter cash in a half-empty potato chip bag? We dished about reports that an aide of New York City Mayor Eric Adams did just that.
We also have an update on the scandal that brought down one of San Diego’s most powerful and influential politicians.

I know it’s not the position of the podcast to be confrontational and that Scott gets a little touchy when people question this stance on social media, but allowing Peters to talk about his “support of healthcare” many times as a throwaway line is disappointing. It is well documented what an impediment he has been to any improvement in the system.
Ryan Grim has documented this fairly well. Pintar and his defenders will point to the insulin deal, but it was only a limit on copays for certain Medicare users and not a hit to the profits of his major benefactors (this is public record) at PHARMA.
I’m glad Jakob asked more questions about his “Abundance” rhetoric. It seems like just a bunch of empty words that Democrats who have been in power say to justify why nothing got done the whole time they were in power.
