The San Diego City Council on Tuesday put off its decision to raise water and wastewater rates until the end of this month. The increase would have been significant, and the Council couldn’t get behind it.
We invited Councilmember Kent Lee on the latest episode to discuss comments he made from the dais about how — in not so many words — Mayor Todd Gloria’s leadership is eroding public trust.
“When you talk to folks in San Diego right now, their trust in government is certainly eroded,” Lee said on the show.
“We talk a lot about the need for meeting the challenges of the cost of living for everyday people but … we’re also considering these really difficult decisions each week in some cases where we are raising the cost of living in the effort to try to ensure that the services that we provide to the public actually do get maintained.”
