Welcome to 2026! In this episode of the Voice of San Diego podcast, host Scott Lewis interviews Amy Reichert, a local activist and former candidate for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Reichert discusses her ongoing involvement in the Republican Party, her criticisms of local leadership, and her stances on various social and political issues.
After running in a few local elections, she wants to be known as a “journalist” and “activist” rather than a career politician.

- National politics: She previously distanced herself from the movement, she now identifies as a Trump supporter, specifically citing concerns over immigration and parental rights.
- Immigration: She advocates for border security but supports a pathway to citizenship for non-violent immigrants who have contributed to the U.S. for at least 10 years.
