Friday, July 27, 2007 | Shouldn’t the city of San Diego have a meter replacement program in place already? What have they been doing for years now if they haven’t? I worked at one of the agencies cited in the story and they have an ambitious, automatic electronic meter replacement program in progress. It is inconceivable, except for the fact we are discussing the city of San Diego, that this has been going on for as long as the writer points out. It would make the city spend money to replace the meters using a contractor now rather than continue on with their business as usual. I know that what affects San Diego flows downhill to everyone else regionally and the City needs to get their act together.
