Joel Anderson has served on local water and conservation boards, in the California State Assembly and State Senate and on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. A longtime small-business owner, Anderson has focused on public safety, veterans, taxpayers, small businesses and government accountability. He and his wife, Kate, have three children.

With degrees in business finance and economics, Richard Bailey previously worked in finance for a Fortune 100 company and taught economics at the University of San Diego.

Bailey has completed an Ironman, qualified for the Boston Marathon, summited Mount Everest in 2024 and regularly plays volleyball in Ocean Beach.

Crosby says she is running to bring accountability to City Hall and ensure District 2 remains a strong place to live, work and raise a family.

Mark Kersey Speaker Mark Kersey President and CEO, San Diego County Taxpayers Association Session: San Diego County Half-Cent Sales Tax

Mark Kersey was appointed president and CEO of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association in February 2026. He was previously elected to the San Diego City Council in 2012 and 2016 and was a leading advocate for investing in and maintaining the city’s infrastructure during his tenure.

He has started multiple small businesses in San Diego, most recently the multiple gold-medal-winning Cask & Coast California Bourbon.
