About Melanie Woods
Melanie Woods is Vice President of Local Public Affairs for the California Apartment Association. She manages legislative advocacy and political action for San Diego County. She brings more than 15 years of experience working on housing, homelessness, land use and entitlements. She served as housing and land use adviser to three San Diego County supervisors. Her background also includes time at the San Diego Workforce Partnership, Southwest Strategies, LeSar Development Consultants, and the San Diego Housing Commission. In these roles, she assisted the public and private sector on entitlements, long-range planning, economic development and affordable housing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science and a master’s degree in public administration from San Diego State University.
