Suicide at Central Library Highlights Its Place in City’s Mental Health Crisis

A 49-year-old man died by suicide inside the library last week; three others attempted suicide there since mid-May. The incidents have driven home the extent to which East Village – and the Central Library in particular – is caught at the center of the region’s mental health and homelessness crises.
