Friday, June 17, 2005 | This summer, baseball will be clad in blue and gold as the San Diego Surf Dawgs, San Diego’s newest baseball team, kick off their inaugural season with the Golden Baseball League. The team made headlines when it signed Rickey Henderson, 25-year major league veteran, who set records in runs scored, stolen bases and walks (which was broken last season by Barry Bonds). The Dawgs hit the ground running, winning five of their first seven games, opening weekend sell-outs and a stolen base by Henderson in the home opener.
