The famed audit committee, which has been working on an investigative report about City Hall’s alleged wrongdoing since February 2005, used to speak pretty regularly with us. Now, their point man hasn’t returned our calls for a number of weeks.

While we’re not personally hurt, we are left with a number of unanswered questions. So here’s a list of some of the questions we would ask them if granted the ability:

– Will your report be out this month as planned? If so, what specific day?

– Will you finish your report under budget or will you need to ask the City Council for more money?

– Will you try to stay on as consultants to the city after the release of the report to help enact some of your recommended changes?

Oh yeah, and we’ve got one more: Do you still return calls from and/or meet with the editorial board of The San Diego Union-Tribune, a local newspaper?

Please e-mail me if you’ve got your own questions you’d like asked.
