The county’s Department of Environmental Health closed water contact in all of east Mission Bay today, after officials found sewage had been spilling into the water since July 5.

An unknown amount of sewage has been spilling near the De Anza RV trailer park, the county said in a news release.

The county sent along this list of closures: Vacation Isle water ski launch, Crown Point shores, Campland, De Anza Cove, east Mission Bay boat dock, shoreline south of the Visitor’s Center, Leisure Lagoon and swim area north of Leisure Lagoon, north Pacific Passage near the Hilton Hotel, Tecolote Shores, Tecolote Playground area.

San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. We’ll follow up on his briefing later this afternoon.
