The U.S. Senate may consider the Mount Soledad National War Memorial bill as early as this afternoon. Word is that “a Democrat” has put a hold on the bill for unknown reasons (Senators don’t have to make their identities known to put a hold on a bill; it’s all part of the parlor games they play in the august body). At this very moment, staffers for Senators Boxer and Feinstein are trying to resolve the issues underlying the hold so that it can get to a floor vote (probably early next week). If that happens, it would be a vote on unanimous consent. The bill would then go to the Prez, who has said he would sign it. Stay tuned. Certainly much more to follow in this almost two decades-long story.
